1. Tada! Here is an in-progress image of a little doodle I’m doing. I figured that it was about time for me to create a new desktop background on my computer at work.

Here, you can see where I have my background, color flats, line art and the beginnins of shadings. I drew the lineart in MyPaint then brought them into Photoshop. Originally, I was going to bring the finished line art into Gimp, but for some strange reason that I just cannot figure out, it will not accept .png files. So—alas—OpenSource loses to proprietary in ease of use. Had I planned ahead, I could have saved it as a…well, I don’t know what Gimp will accept as I could have sworn previous verions accepted .png files, but I did used to work primarily in .bmp. Oh well. I might bring the new .psd file into Gimp Painter to make use of its extensive special effects brushes once I am done. Last time I checked, Gimp still read .psd files. We’ll see. I’ll keep you posted! Remember, let me know someone’s out there reading this. Leave a comment, even if it’s simple hello.

  2. In the interest of becoming more marketable, I’ve really ramped up my art production, usually completing a piece in about 8 hours ( this is an improvement from NEVER completing a piece). Here is one done for a comic idea I’d like to pursue, but who knows…
